A 16-year-old boy was shot to death and three others were wounded early Saturday during a fight at a Coachella house party that ended in gunfire.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at 1:05 a.m. to 84-514 Pedro Drive, after a report of a fight and shots fired.

The teenage victim died at the scene, while three other people suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.

No arrests had been made as of 8 p.m. Saturday, and sheriff's Cpl. Steven Favero said no other information would be released.

Investigators were still at the home as of 3 p.m. Saturday.

Shattered glass littered the street outside the yellow home, which was surrounded by a gate. Christmas decorations still hung from the roof and two cars and a truck were parked on the property.

Neighbors said about 10 people — including two teenagers — live in the home where the brawl occurred but none of the home's occupants were among the shooting victims.

Belinda Aguilera, whose mother lives west of the crime scene, said the shooting was a rare occurrence in the neighborhood.

"Everyone's very private around here," she said Saturday. "There are never fights, there are never (gun) pops, there's never drama."

Saturday's homicide was at least the ninth one in the Coachella Valley this year.

Fifteen deaths were investigated as homicides by valley law enforcement agencies in 2013, compared to 30 homicides in 2011 and 19 in 2012.

Sheriff's authorities said the investigation into Saturday's shooting is ongoing. Deputies asked anyone with information about the shootings to call (760) 393-3522 or (760) 393-3531.
