In the face of weather that continues to resemble a Jack London novel, schools in Southeast Michigan have begun to announce plans to close for a second consecutive day.

The following school districts in the Ann Arbor-area have announced they will be closed Tuesday as of 3:45 p.m. Monday:
- Ann Arbor Public Schools
- Bedford Public Schools
- Brighton Area Schools
- Chelsea School District
- Dexter Community Schools
- Milan Area Schools
- Pinckney Community Schools
- Saline Area Schools
- South Lyon Community Schools
- Whitmore Lake Public Schools
- Ypsilanti Public Schools
According to Washtenaw Intermediate School District Communication Specialist Emma Jackson, "the Washtenaw Intermediate Schools and Programs will be closed Tuesday, January 7, due to weather conditions. However, the WISD Teaching and Learning Center at 1819 S. Wagner Road, Ann Arbor, will be open."

- Go Like the Wind Montessori School in Ann Arbor
- Guidance Center Belleville Head Start
- Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor
- Holy Spirit Catholic in Brighton
- Honey Creek Community School in Ann Arbor
- Livingston Christian Schools in Pinckney
- Schoolhouse Montessori Canton
- South Arbor Academy
- South Pointe Scholars in Ypsilanti
- Spiritus Sanctus Academy Ann Arbor
- St. Mary School Pinckney
- St. Thomas School Ann Arbor
- St. Fransis of Assisi in Ann arbor
Washtenaw County’s public school superintendents are scheduled to meet Monday afternoon to evaluate conditions and discuss closing their schools Tuesday. There has not been significant snowfall Monday, but temperatures are forecasted to be extremely low Tuesday morning.
According to the Ann Arbor Public Schools inclement weather guidelines, “On days when the temperature and/or wind chill are below -20 degrees Fahrenheit (20 below zero) schools will be closed.”
