New evidence suggests that it's possible Brittany Murphy was poisoned.
When Murphy died in 2009 at the age of 32, the tragedy rocked Hollywood. The actress known for her roles in Clueless and 8 Mile collapsed in her home after days of experiencing flulike symptoms. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office concluded Murphy's death was accidental, but preventable. Five months after her death, Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, was also found dead.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Angelo Bertolotti, who claims to be the star's biological father, filed a suit against the coroner's office to do more toxicology testing. Though the lawsuit was dismissed, Bertolotti sent the late actress' hair, blood and tissue samples for testing at the Carlson Company in Colorado, reports The Huffington Post.
Bertolotti sent an e-mail to The Huffington Post Monday, saying, "Ten heavy metals were found in abnormally high quantities... These types of heavy metals/toxic elements are commonly found in rat poison, pesticides, insecticides, etc... they may have been introduced by a third party with criminal intent."
However, those reports haven not been confirmed by the L.A. Coroner. Chief Coroner Investigator Craig R. Harvey told The Huffington Post, "We have not been presented any [third] party lab test results for analysis, so we are unable to comment on publicized reports on private lab tests."
