JC Penney, OmniVision, Express are stocks to watch - MarketWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Among the companies whose shares are expected to see active trade in Wednesday’s session are J.C. Penney Co., OmniVision Technologies Inc. and Express Inc.

After Tuesday’s closing bell, J.C. Penney /quotes/zigman/237947/delayed/quotes/nls/jcp JCP +1.00%  said its comparable-store sales rose 10.1% in November and that it is “pleased” with its performance over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Shares of J.C. Penney rose more than 4% in extended trading.

OmniVision /quotes/zigman/82509/delayed/quotes/nls/ovti OVTI 0.00%  late Thursday reported a second-quarter adjusted profit of 60 cents a share, up from 33 cents a share a year ago. It forecast third-quarter adjusted earnings of 28 cents a share to 44 cents a share on revenue of $310 million to $340 million. Analysts are projecting adjusted earnings of 43 cents a share and revenue of $399.5 million. OmniVision shares slumped 14% in after-hours trading.

On Wednesday, Express /quotes/zigman/596845/delayed/quotes/nls/expr EXPR +0.94%  is projected to report third-quarter earnings of 25 cents a share, according to a consensus survey by FactSet.

Guess Inc. /quotes/zigman/166567/delayed/quotes/nls/ges GES -1.05%  is likely to post third-quarter earnings of 38 cents a share.

Aeropostale Inc. /quotes/zigman/304381/delayed/quotes/nls/aro ARO -0.10%   is expected to report a loss of 25 cents a share in the third quarter.

New York & Co. /quotes/zigman/348676/delayed/quotes/nls/nwy NWY +1.17%  is forecast to post a loss of 3 cents a share in the third quarter.
