It's been a day of reflection for Robin Roberts.
And in a Facebook post looking back to one year ago today, when she "reached a critical milestone of 100 days post transplant," the Good Morning America anchor reveals she has a longtime girlfriend.
Roberts wrote today in the post that "at this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude," and thanked God, her doctors and nurses, her sister and family and her "long time girlfriend, Amber" for their support.
"I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together," she wrote.
While Roberts, 53, did not give her girlfriend's last name, People identifies her as Amber Laign, a licensed massage therapist from the San Francisco Bay area who has a private practice specializing in patients recovering from injuries. She and Roberts have been together for 10 years after meeting through mutual friends.
The Facebook post also showed a photo of Roberts one year ago when she was reunited with her dog, KJ, after undergoing a bone marrow transplant she underwent in September 2012 to treat a blood and bone marrow disease. "Hard to believe this was 1 year ago today ... Reading this comforts me and I hope the same for you: "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present."
